Step 2: Access Settings
- Look for your profile picture or account icon in the bottom left corner
- Click on it to open the menu
- Select Settings from the dropdown menu
Can't Find Settings?
If you don’t see Settings, try clicking on your name or email address in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Step 3: Enable Developer Mode
Important: You must enable Developer Mode before you can create or use MCP connectors.
- In the Settings menu, navigate to Apps & Connectors
- Click on Advanced settings
- Find the Developer mode toggle
- Turn Developer mode ON
Developer Mode Required
Developer Mode must remain enabled to use MCP connectors. If you turn it off, you will not be able to select the connector in the chat box.
Step 4: Navigate to Connectors
- In the Settings menu, look for “Connectors” or “Integrations” in the left sidebar
- Click on Connectors
- You should see a list of available connectors or an option to add a new one
Feature Availability
MCP connectors are available on ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. If you don’t see the Connectors option, you may need to:
- Upgrade to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, or Enterprise
- Enable Developer Mode (see Step 3 above)
- Wait for the feature to be available in your region
Step 5: Add New Connector
- Click the “Add Connector” or ”+ New Connector” button
- Select “Remote MCP Server” or “Custom Connector” from the options
- A form will appear asking for connector details
Step 6: Enter Server Details
Fill in the following information exactly as shown:
Connector Name:
Crypto.com Market Data Server URL:
https://mcp.crypto.com/market-data/mcp Authentication:
- Select “No authentication”
Description (optional):
Real-time cryptocurrency market data from Crypto.com Copy Exactly
Use the copy button above to copy the URL exactly. Even a small typo will prevent the connector from working.
Step 7: Configure Permissions (if prompted)
If asked about permissions, you may see options like:
- Allow access to market data - ✅ Enable this
- Allow real-time updates - ✅ Enable this
- Share usage data - ⚠️ Optional (your choice)
Privacy Note
The Crypto.com MCP server only provides public market data. It doesn’t access your personal information or conversation history.
Step 8: Save and Enable
- Click “Save” or “Add Connector”
- The connector should appear in your list of connectors
- Make sure the toggle switch next to it is ON (enabled)
- You may see a green checkmark or “Active” status
Step 9: Refresh Your Browser
For the changes to take effect:
- Refresh the page (F5 or Ctrl+R on Windows, Cmd+R on Mac)
- Or close and reopen the chat.openai.com tab
- Wait a few seconds for the page to fully load
Step 10: Verify It’s Working
Let’s confirm your connector is working correctly:
- Start a new chat by clicking the “New Chat” button in ChatGPT.
- Click the “+” icon next to the message box and select Crypto.com Market Data from the list of connectors.
- In the chat, type the following question: “What’s the current price of Bitcoin?”
- Press Enter and wait for the response from the connector. ✅ If you receive the latest Bitcoin price, your Crypto.com Market Data connector is successfully configured!
What to expect:
- ✅ ChatGPT should give you the current, real-time price
- ✅ You might see a small badge or indicator showing it’s using the Crypto.com connector
- ✅ The response should include today’s date and recent data
Success!
If you got a current price with today’s date, congratulations! The MCP server is working correctly.

ChatGPT doesn’t use the connector

- Developer Mode must remain enabled to use connectors
-
Start a new chat
- Click “New chat” in the sidebar
